Results:
Using Multimpap.com, I was able to confirm the co-ordinates of 31 of the 48 locations. (Approximately 2/3). Although several other maps also appear to be accurate, I was unable to locate the other primary locations.
I found that some of the named locations (At least 5, which represents 10%), had changed since the first report. For example 'Llusa' in Spain is now 'Lluca', 'Alex' in France is now 'Aleix', and 'Leysele' in Belgium is now 'Leisele'. It is possible that some of the missing locations may have been changed.
Many of Guichards maps have more than one 'Alesian' location on them. This data represents geographical accuracy of primary locations only.

Using Multimpap.com, we can confirm the co-ordinates of 14 of the 18 locations. Further research to follow.
Total to date : 45 of the 66 maps tested were accurate. Almost 3/4.
Identified locations proved invariably accurate. Several locations had slight alterations to their names. I was unable to discover several of the locations.
